We enjoyed our stay on the hill very much - the silence, the views, the stars. Everything was as described before. If you hire a scooter you can reach Lipari Town and Canneto easily. OK there is this dirt track ... but thanks to Alfredo who took our luggage by quad.

Atollo ist ein magischer Ort. Wir haben eine Woche dort verbracht und es war Urlaub pur. Alfredo ist ein perfekter Gastgeber. Atollo ist ein paradisischer Rückzugsort für Menschen, die die Natur und die Einfachkeit des Lebens lieben. Alfredo hat Atollo mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, aber mit nichts Überflüssigem. Atollo ist minimalistisch aber sehr stilsicher. Lipari ist eine wunderschöne Insel und die Nähe zu den anderen äolischen Inseln bieten die Gelegenheit für kleine Tagesausflüge. Für Abenteuerer sind die Vulkane Etna, Stromboli und Vulcano in Sichtweite...Für die Unterkunft, den Gastgeber und die äolischen Insen wohlverdient die volle Punktzahl!!! Wir kommen wieder...

This place is paradise! We fell in love with the pictures that Al made of his self-built bungalow. In real life the place looks still better: you have 360 degrees of astounding scenery and the bungalow is beautifully decorated. It is THE place to relax. If you need peace and quiet, this is the best place to be. We LOVED the views, the hammocks, and the outside shower. The only minor drawback of Al's place is the distance: from Amsterdam it takes a whole day to get there, and from Lipary town it is a 40 minutes' walk (with bags full of fruits and goodies) up the mountain. But you get a free workout and is fully worthwile!!! we will definitely be back! Milou and Jola

Juste un petit coin de paradis isolé sur Lipari. Le seul reproche c'est qu'on y est tellement bien qu'on n'a plus envie d'en bouger. Du barbecue de poisson face au Stromboli à la tombée de la nuit à la douche chaude extérieur avec vu sur l'île de Vulcano tout y es...Bref, à recommander. Merci à Alessandro pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité.

Nous avons passé 10 jours merveilleux, perchés au sommet de notre montagne, avec cette vue à 360 degrés....un coin de paradis, dont nous avons profité en amoureux. L'île de Lipari est magnifique, avec des criques à l'eau turquoise, des liparotes accueillants, mais il faut arrêter là cette liste positive car à force d'en dire trop de bien, tous les gens vont vouloir y aller :-))! NB: sensations garanties avec l'accès à la maisonnette en quad.

Come sempre, abbiamo lasciato un pezzetto di cuore proprio lassù.

Une vue imprenable sur les îles, sur la baie de Caneto, les bleus de la mer et du ciel... Maisonnette décorée avec goût, parfaitement isolée de tout voisinage, on se sent immédiatement chez soi. Y accéder reste sportif (600m d'un chemin de randonnée) - les plages sont donc à distance. Mais c'est aussi le prix à payer pour gagner ce havre de paix. :) (PS : Veiller à vous organiser pour l'approvisionnement en aliments, Alessandro, l'hôte accueillant et véhiculé, saura vous aider PS 2 : Catane-Lipari : près de 5h de temps)

Das Atollo ist ein kleiner Geheimtip! Bei der Anreise sollte man einfach wissen das man ca. 600m über einen Naturweg zum Atollo gelangt. Das Laufen lohnt sich jedoch, man ist wirklich absolut alleine, rundherum kein anderes Haus. Der Ausblick ist wirklich wie auf den Fotos. Wir haben eine Vespa gemietet mit der man bis zur Ende der Strasse fahren kann, jedoch auch nur mit etwas Erfahrung da der Weg sehr steil nach oben geht und die Strasse auch nicht mehr so in einem Guten Zustand ist! Wir haben nicht gross etwas gekocht da wir etwas zu faul waren die Lebensmittel nach oben zu tragen ;) bei der Anreise war der Kühlschrank jedoch mit 12 Liter Wasser gefüllt!!! Das Cottage hat keine Klimanlage der Ventilator ist nicht gerade der schnellste, ich würde nicht gerade die heisseste Jahreszeit empfehlen ;) wir waren im Juli, und es war dieses jahr sehr heiss mit über 40 Grad! Ein Kollege von Alfredo hat uns direkt beim Hafen abgeholt und auch wieder zurückgebracht, super Service!

La casa, il posto, la vista sono semplicemente fantastici. Credo sia lo spot piú bello delle Eolie....di Lipari lo é di sicuro ! La casa é cosí tranquilla ed incantevole che abbiamo passato interi pomeriggi a guardare il panorama, dimenticandoci di andare in spiaggia ! Aspettavamo il tramonto. La tranquillitá, l´atmosfera romantica e la splendida vista, hanno un prezzo piccolo piccolo: la casa é cosí isolata che bisogna camminare 8 minuti a piedi (cronometrati) su una stradina sterrata in forte salita. Una cosa da niente visto il premio che si riceve una volta arrivati lassú. Noi siamo stati molto felici nella casa di Alfredo e speriamo di poter ritornare presto !

We stayed for 8 days in the cottage on top of Monte Rosa and it was really great. The views are much better in real life than in pictures. It´s a cool feeling to be all alone on top of the mountain overlooking Stromboli, Vulcano and even Etna. Just you and the nature. The walk up to the house is a real workout and I recommend you to walk up some steep hills to get the feeling if you are staying more than a couple of days.

Paradisiaco!!!

we stayed here on our honeymoon and it really was the perfect place. its a really special little house and the location is stunning, the best on the island....alfredo is a wonderful host, giving you privacy but also willing to help out with any holiday queries. we'll remember it always and are already planning a return trip!

Nous avons passé 9 jours dans la maison d'Alfredo et nous avons passé des vacances de rêves. La maison offre un panoramique magnifique sur les iles éoliennes et se réveiller tous les matins dans une nature luxuriante (en Avril-Mai, l'île est fleurie) en méditant dans un hamac face au Stromboli est une expérience magique. Alfredo offre une maison où toutes les attentions sont réunies : quel plaisir la douche chaude à l'extérieur face à l'Etna, l'observation au télescope des éruptions du Stromboli ou le barbecue qui permet de griller les poissons et autres seiches achetés aux pêcheurs de Lipari De lipari, nous avons pu visiter les autres îles sans manquer de profiter pleinement de lieu accueillant et reposant. Sans compter la gentillesse de l'accueil d'Alfredo et Alessandro. Un Grand Merci à eux.

beautiful location, everything was as promised.

We stayed on Monterosa a couple of weeks late July 2011. The house is simply wonderful, comfortable, nesty, warm and fresh, sunny-shady, a good looking "monolocale" completely isolated on top of the Monte Rosa. Outstanding views on Stromboli, Vulcano, and the Etna (far at East, spotted a couple of clear/explosive nights). Designed flowery garden (in late july!), incredible cactus flowers in the morning, real nature all round, the catch is the walk up : 650 meters of steepy, rocky-ish, beaten track, 12 - 15 minutes to the top… Good training to climb on Stromboli later. We were welcome by Alfredo right at the port of Lipari, he very kindly took our luggage to the house while we got the scooters (needed to get halfway up the hill). His help was always available when needed, down to taking our luggage to the port when leaving Lipari. The house itself, mostly in local materials is neatly done. A magical dominating terrasse, a large main room, separated bathroom with shower, external shower behind, and the external kitchen. Cooking on the terrasse became difficult when it got windy, and it does, because the gas fires are not well isolated. Also, the light for cooking is much too low… The wind problem could probably be arranged by a kind of mobile, light-wood screen for windy days. And adding a cooking light should be possible ;-) Actually, I hope it will be, since we're going back this year… The kitchen equipment is all there, down to the unexpected iron and table ! A couple of kitchen ustensils were missing , but the owner quickly got them. I guess the longer you stay, the more kitchen stuff you need. The only other little problem happened after over a week, when the water ended. That was fixed the same day, and I think it has been updated since. We checked in the agency while in Lipari, their help with the house was fast, and we got some good advice. We should be rating 10, but the cooking problem on the house calls for a 9. Thanks to all at Vulcano, and thank you Alfredo for keeping this place as you do !

From the moment I saw the cottage listed on AirBnB I knew that it was the place for us. We spent three weeks in Sicily staying in three different rental houses, visiting the island and getting to know it's people, places and food. It was a busy and magical time. Being able to spend a week on Lipari at this cottage was the perfect end to our stay in Sicily. Truly a meditation place, it was perfect. Of all the places we stayed on this visit, it was only this house that we were sad to leave. I would like to come back and stay for a month. Of course, as others say, you must be willing to hike the 650 meters up the steep path, but it's worth it for the silence and solitude. Thank you Alfredo for creating such a magical place!

Buongiorno a tutti, scusate la tardiva risposta, ma la calma non è stata di questi giorni... Onde per cui il ricordo della terrazza dell'Atollo campeggia nei pochi neuroni ancora non fritti. Come già l'altra volta ci siamo trovati molto bene, da amanti della cucina - se proprio vogliamo stare a guardare il pelo nell'uovo - avremmo gradito qualche pentola in più, ma immaginiamo che sia una richiesta non troppo comune. L'isola ci piace ed essendo una coppia un po' di orsi il periodo di fine agosto e la tranquillità dell'atollo è quello che fa per noi. Che dire, speriamo di poter tornare ancora, magari per un po' più di tempo rispetto alla settimanina di quest'anno. Grazie e a presto Buon lavoro Esther & Vincenzo

Alfredo's cottage is beautiful and comfortable. Alfredo was nice and helpful and accommodating to my needs. We did not have a lot of interaction as the cottage is a little isolated but great for alone time and meditation. I enjoyed my stay.

Great Place! Perfect if you look for loneliness. Alfredo is a very nice host who cares for his guests.

Schitterende ligging. Erg rustig met 360° zicht op zee en andere Eolische eilanden. Enig nadeel ; niet met wagen te bereiken. Laatste 700 meter dienen te voet afgelegd langs een niet al te steile landweg. Verhuurkantoor zorgde voor het afleveren van bagage en is bereid om boodschappen ter plaatste af te zetten.

Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo soggiornato dal 12 al 19 Settembre 2010 a Lipari nel cottage Atollo in località Monterosa, luogo splendido con un panorama spettacolare. Abbiamo trovato l'appartamento corrispondente alla descrizione fornita anticipatamente dal proprietario, che è stato molto disponibile con le nostre richieste. Consiglio questo soggiorno a chi, come noi, ama stare in mezzo alla natura!

An ideal place for anyone who wants to be far from tourists and.. well civilization. You can only reach the little house through a very steep path so aside from the very rare brave wanderer looking for the way to get to the church on the next hill, not a soul in sight. The house is very basic, but well equiped and it has pretty much anything you could need. There is a wonderful breeze through it (and outside) which is highly appreciated with the heat. The views are wonderful (on other islands, on the sea, and on one of the towns' beaches). As a couple trying to get away and really rest, it was the Perfect place. We regreted every time we left it (aside from a wonderful tour of the island). Enjoy!

Incroyable petite maison isolée sur une colline avec vue a 360' sur la mer, stromboli et vulcano. Le tout fraichement aménagé avec une superbe terrasse, douche extérieure et 2 beaux hamacs ! ...et l'accueil amical d'Alfredo.

Le cottage Attolo est tout a fait conforme au descriptif présent sur le site internet ; un petit bijou en pleine nature , une vue magnifique, un aménagement simple mais propre et quel bonheur de prendre sa douche en extérieur ... mais ça se mérite ... avec la petite grimpette à faire à pieds. L'accueil est également super , il faudrait simplement faire préciser le port d'arrivée car il y en a 2 à Lipari ...

Paradisiaco !!
